Ingredients for Belgian Waffles:

  1. 2 cups flour.
  2. 3 teapsoon baking powder.
  3. 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  4. 5 tbsp sugar.
  5. 2 eggs.
  6. 1/2 cup vegetable oil.
  7. 2 cups buttermilk or regular milk.
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla or amaretto.
  9. 1/4 cup cornstarch.
  10. 1/3 cup melted butter (unsalted).
  11. Can add 1 teaspoon cinnamon or lemon zest for extra flavor.

Step by step how to cook Belgian Waffles:

  1. If buttermilk powder used, add 1/2 cup of water to every 1 tablespoon of buttermilk powder, stirring to fully incorporate the powder. Let the mixture sit for a couple of minutes before using..
  2. Sift flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt. Mix well.
  3. Add milk, butter, egg yolk, sugar, vegetable oil and vanilla. mix just until combined. Do not overmix as you do not want air in this. Some lumps are ok..

  5. Fold egg whites into mixture. Do not deflate eggwhites..
