Ingredients for Okra Stir Fry (Bhindi Ki Sabzi):
- 500 g bite sized chopped okra.
- 1 small onion chopped the same size as the okra.
- Salt as per taste.
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.
- 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida.
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder.
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder.
- 1 tablespoon garam masala.
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder.
- 1 teaspoon amchur powder.
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil.
Step by step how to cook Okra Stir Fry (Bhindi Ki Sabzi):
- Heat the oil in a wok.
- When the oil is hot add the cut okra and a teaspoon of turmeric powder.
- Cook on high flame for 3-4 minutes till the outer surface of the okra becomes soft.
- When the okra becomes soft, reduce the flame to βmediumβ and add in the powder spices and the chopped onion.
- Cover and cook for about 2 minutes.
- Open the lid and give it a mix. Add salt as per your taste and cover and cook for about 3-4 minutes.
- Goes well with chappatis (Indian flat bread) or as a side dish with any regular lunch.
