Ingredients for Thai Basil Beef:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil.
- 1 onion sliced.
- 6 gloves garlic chopped.
- 1 inch ginger minced.
- 1 red pepper sliced.
- 1 pound lean ground beef.
- 1 cup Thai basil leaves chopped.
- 3 scallions chopped.
- Ingredients for sauce.
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar.
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce.
- 6 tablespoons soy sauce.
- 3 tablespoons oyster sauce.
- 1/2 cup water.
- 1 tablespoon chili paste (optional).
- 1 teaspoon corn starch.
Step by step how to cook Thai Basil Beef:
- Mix ingredients for sauce and set aside.
- Add oil to wok or large pan over medium high heat.
- When oil is hot, add garlic, ginger, red pepper, and onion. Stir fry for 4 min.
- Turn stove to high heat and add ground beef. Break beef into small pieces.
- When beef is no longer pink, stir in sauce and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the basil and stir fry until the basil wilts..
