Ingredients for Chili Smash:

- 2 pounds potatoes washed and peeled.
- 2 quarts water.
- 1/2 stick butter.
- 15 ounce evaporated milk.
- 1 teaspoon salt.
- Chili-----------------.
- 15 ounce can tomato sauce.
- 1/2 pound ground chuck.
- To taste salt.
- To taste granulated garlic powder.
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin.
- To taste ground cayenne pepper.
- 1/2 large onion diced.
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar.
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste.
- Toppings----------------.
- 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese.
Step by step how to cook Chili Smash:
- Cook the onion and ground chuck and when it's no longer pink and the onions are tender drain the excessive amounts of oil..
- Add the spices to taste. Set aside..
- Wash peel and cube the potatoes and boil till fork tender. Drain..
- Add milk butter and salt to the pot where you boiled the potatoes..
- Add potatoes and smash them then mix well..
- Let the potatoes cool. Then refrigerate till cold..
- Heat a skillet add the smashed potatoes and fry till caramelized a bit..
- Add potatoes to a plate.
