Ingredients for Kolkata Style Fish Fingers:

  1. 3 Basa Fish Fillet (cut in to the shape like fingers).
  2. 1 tbsp Lemon juice.
  3. 2 inch Ginger.
  4. 3 big cloves of garlic.
  5. 3 nos Green chillies.
  6. 1/2 cup Coriander leaves.
  7. 1/2 tsp Crushed black peppercorns.
  8. 4 no of - Mint leaves.
  9. 1/2 Onion (small size).
  10. 1 Egg.
  11. 1/4 cup Egg white.
  12. As per taste Salt.
  13. 1 cup Bread crumbs.
  14. 1/2 cup All-purpose Flour.
  15. 2-3 cup Vegetable oil for deep frying.
  16. 1-2 tsp Water.

Step by step how to cook Kolkata Style Fish Fingers:

  1. Wash the fish fillets properly.Then cut them in the shape like fingers.Pat them dry with a paper towel..
  2. Marinate the fish fillets first with Lemon juice,Salt & Crushed black peppercorns and keep aside for 15 minutes..
  3. Now in a mixer grinder by using little water make a smooth paste of Ginger,Garlic,Coriander leaves,Mint leaves,Green Chilies & onion..
  4. Marinate the fish fillets second time with the smooth paste until coated properly and refrigerate for overnight or at least 2 hours..
  5. Take out the marinated fillets from the refrigerator.Beat one egg and egg white in a bowl with some salt.Take all-purpose flour and bread crumbs in two separate plate & spread them on the plate nicely..
  6. Coat the fish sticks one by one with flour first,then dip them the egg mixture..
  7. Now coat them one by one properly with the bread crumbs..
  8. Heat the oil in a frying pan,fry the fish sticks in 2-3 batches until golden brown.Keep turning the fish sticks and fry each side evenly until cooked properly.Transfer the fried Fish Fingers on a paper towel lined plate to absorb the excess oil..
  9. Now Enjoy them hot with onion cucumber salads & kasundi or mustard sauce or any sauce of your choice..
